Douglas Coupland is a multi-talented artist who has lived most of his 48 years in Vancouver. He is a successful novelist, writer, screenwriter, actor, sculptor and industrial designer. For his series "Talking Sticks," Coupland used stacks of children's wood blocks to spell out adult conceits such as "Quit Your Job" "Define Normal" and "Hot Shit".

These are gorgeous, the perfect medium for an artist/writer. I'm going to keep my eye on interesting and vintage children's blocks to make some art pieces like these.
