Japanese sculptor Takahiro Iwasaki creates complex constructions using common everyday objects and materials. Close examination reveals miniature natural and urban landscapes, including towers created with threads pulled from fraying towels, topographical maps carved from rolls of duct tape and power lines rising from the bristles of toothbrushes. Takahiro's objects were exhibited last year at
C24 Gallery and were also part of the
Constellations show at
Cornerhouse in Manchester back in 2011. A new collection of his larger works is currently being exhibited at the
7th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art at GOMA in Queensland.
