Everyday Rubbish Fabricated Entirely from Paper

Berlin-based visual artist Carly Fischer creates painstakingly detailed replicas of everyday rubbish fabricated entirely from paper. Scrunched up cans, candy bar wrappers and cigarette packets are transformed into idealised paper models that mimic the perfection of postcards. "Fischer’s work is symbolic of the encroaching fakeness of real life, the disposable culture of consumerism, the banal mass-produced stuff that infiltrates daily life. But it’s through Fischer’s remade replicas that we can find a reminder that there might be substance behind the simulacra." - Dean Heagney
