Derelict Structure Transformed into Temporary Art Gallery

As part of an artistic residency curated by Magda Danyz in collaboration with Jean-Pierre Marois, 50 of the world's finest street artists have taken over the now derelict Les Bains Douches in Paris and transformed the 3,000 square meter space into a giant canvas. Closed since 2010, the former bathhouse and legendary nightclub is due to be demolished on April, 30 2013, and none of the artworks will be preserved. "There's a certain absurdity that I like," says Marois of the project. "Not many people will see it, it's all going to disappear." This momentary and almost subliminal metamorphoses of the legendary space is being documented by two full-time photographers for the website and Danyz is publishing a catalogue of the event.
