Photographer Matches Pantone Swatches With Scenes from Everyday Life

For his new photography series titled "The Pantone Project", Chicago-based photographer Paul Octavious captured images of his hand holding up a Pantone swatch to match the scene in the background. The project started out as a series of instagram posts trying to “match all the PANTONE colors to things I find in everyday life.” For those unfamiliar with the The Pantone Color Matching System, it is the industry standard system of coded colors used in printing and design so that manufacturers, screenprinters, and designers can guarantee that their colors are accurate and precise. Paul Octavious has taken this system and cleverly turned it on it's head.
