Vintage Ski Gondola Transformed into Giant Vending Machine

Premiering at Design Miami/ Basel on June 10, 2013 is a project for charity called "Verbier Mountain Climbers". Celebrating a Swiss icon of industrial design and ski tourism, the project collects decommissioned ski gondolas from Verbier, and invites some of Switzerland’s most acknowledged designers and artists to revisit their design. The "Vending Machine" by Baker Wardlaw & Yves Decoppet is an old ski gondola that has been transformed into a giant vending machine that dispenses temporary tattoos, stickers and toys. Speaking about the project the designers said, "It may be obvious, but the materials and the shape of the gondola really does remind us of the classic and popular vending machine."
