Small Scale Models of Makeshift Shelters Constructed from Digital Photographs

UK-based artist Antonia Dewhurst explores scale and illusion by creating small models of makeshift shelters constructed from digital photographs. Antonia meticulously rebuilds these structures using digital images, cardboard, adhesive and a variety of found materials. Speaking about her mixed media constructions Antonia says, "The huts are little metaphors for life in the 21st century. They are small, fragile and alone. I think they also have a certain air of defiance about them and, though I shouldn’t say this myself, I think they reveal a certain amount of beauty in the colours and textures of their materials. "
