Artists Transform Museum Galleries into a Fictional London Apartment

Scandinavian artists Michael Elmgreen and Ingar Dragset were recently commissioned by the Victoria & Albert museum in London to create a site-specific installation in the former Textile Galleries. Called “Tomorrow”, the installation transforms the galleries of the museum into a fictional apartment furnished with objects from the V&A's collections alongside works by the artists and various items sourced from antique markets. The artists even created a backstory, chronicling the life a fictional, elderly and disillusioned architect. Visitors will be able to explore the apartment , sit on the sofa and read the inhabitant’s books and magazines. The installation opens on October 1st and is on exhibit through January 2nd 2014.
