Artists Turn a Hotel Demolition in Rome into a Site Specific Installation

Located within the Hotel Locarno in Rome, Nicola Pellegrini and Ottonella Mocellin's "Crash" is a site-specific installation created within the old structure to reference the building's rich history before it's imminent demolition and subsequent renovation. For decades the Hotel Locarno was a hotspot of the cultural scene in Rome, a "cultural container" for the the world of art, cinema and literature. The installation sheds light on a hidden story that may reveal unattended relations. Speaking about the project the artists said, “Between public and private, movement and idleness, a place that is not a place, a hotel is where a person lives differently than they would at their own houses."
