Whimsical and Creative Sculptures Made from Everyday Objects

For his third solo show at Anton Kern Gallery, Brazilian artist Marepe presents a group of sculptures made from everyday materials such as plastic buckets and tables, ironing boards, brooms, bicycles, wheelbarrows, and chipboard. The artist reconfigures everyday objects from his environment in Bahia into poetic forms. Via the press release, "These works achieve a complex layering of references and meanings addressing the linkage between the individual and society."
