Mixed Media Assemblages Transform Cityscapes into Circular Planet-like Configurations

Spanish born, New York based artist Isidro Blasco combines architecture, photography and building materials to create three-dimensional reconstructions of cityscapes that resemble circular, planet-like configurations. The series titled "Planets", depicts cities such as New York, São Paulo, Sydney and Madrid as photo-sculptures reminiscent of Cubist collages. Speaking about her work Blasco says, “I make collages that look very deconstructed, they try to show all the different moments that happen when you are looking at something. Events don’t happen in one direction only, there are lots of things happening when you are in one place.”
