Mind Bending Anamorphic Installation Transforms Found Objects Into a Two-Dimensional Surface

Portuguese graphic designer, and visual artist, AkaCorleone creates installations using foil, plexi, paint, found objects, and basically anything that can visually improve and elevate his works. His latest solo exhibition titled “Find Yourself in Chaos” at the Underdogs Gallery in Lisbon, on view until March 15th, consists of a collection of graffiti works and illustrations. The exhibit’s centerpiece is a mixed media installation created using a technique called anamorphosis, which creates a distorted perspective requiring the viewer to occupy a specific vantage point to reconstitute the image. Based on what the artist describes as “the chaos in which I constantly find myself and see around me”, the exhibition sets as objective the exploration of that vertigo of excess and saturation which characterises life in contemporary urban societies.
