New Moon: An Interactive Light Sculpture Made from Thousands of Donated Light Bulbs

"New Moon" is an interactive light installation created by Calgary-based artists Caitlind R.C. Brown and Wayne Garrett (previously) for the Lexington Arts League. Built from 5,500 community donated light bulbs, the sculpture allows viewers to explore the whimsical and alluring nature of the moon, by manipulating the piece using a large turnstyle. The installation is a continuation of the artists' "Celestial Series", a series of large scale interactive sculptures each interpreting forms observable in the sky.
