Illustrator Christoph Niemann Transforms MoMA's Masterpieces into Quirky Visual Experiments

Armed with a sketchbook and a camera, New York-based artist and illustrator Christoph Niemann, wandered the halls of the Museum of Modern Art for a week this winter, using a lo-fi technique that allowed him to transform the museum’s masterpieces into humorous visual experiments. The project which was created as part of The New York Times' "Abstract Sunday", showcases Niemann's clever and playful approach to illustration. Via The New York Times, "By holding up his drawings between his camera and the painting, he could extend them outside their frame or highlight visual confluences among the artworks and their surroundings, creating a whole new gallery in the process."
