Portsmouth, UK-based artist Julie Alice Chappell, uses circuit boards found inside discarded computers and video game systems to create beautiful miniature sculptures of insects. Recycling, is the main theme of her work which is a response to mankind’s cruelty, exploitation and ruination of the natural world for financial greed. "I view the miniature circuit boards with the same curiosity and amazement as I view the natural world." she explains, "With all their tiny components, complex circuitry and bright metallic colours I cannot help but compare them to the detailed patterns we see when we look at nature up close."
