Original Paintings Created by Shelter Dogs Help Raise Money for Animal Rescue Organizations

To raise awareness about adoptable dogs waiting for new homes in São Paulo, Brazil, a group of artists has created "Canismo", an art project in which dogs shake non-toxic paint onto canvases to create unique Pollock-esque paintings. Via the website, "Canismo is an artistic movement created by a group of dogs that aims to help with the support and adoption of sheltered animals. The shake of the paint reveals a remarkable exercise of freedom, where each drop of ink bears the stain of prejudice." The paintings will be on display at Perestroika São Paulo from May 9 - June 9, 2015, where they will be available to purchase during the exhibition.
