Artist 1010 Paints a Giant Gaping Hole Illusion Along a Parisian Highway

German street artist 1010 is currently in Paris, France where he spent the last week working on a uniquely ambitious new mural near a highway. The massive 4500 square meters artwork which shows some of his signature “trompe-l’œil” (optical illusions) imagery, took seven days and 400 litres of paint to complete. “I like to play with the perceptions of human beings,” the artist told the WSJ while painting the asphalt on the side of a the motorway. “Sometimes we think something is static but it’s not. If you change the perspective you see it in a different way.”
