Photographer Transforms Plastic Debris Collected from Beaches in Hong Kong into Stunning Images

UK based photographer Mandy Barker(previously), has recently completed a new project titled "Hong Kong Soup", depicting plastic waste collected from over thirty different beaches in Hong Kong since 2012. The images directly relate to the traditions, events, nature, and culture of Hong Kong, with the intention of connecting the photos with the area's people, thereby providing awareness about the crisis of effective waste management. Speaking about the project Barker said, "The series aims to engage with the public by stimulating an emotional response, combining a contradiction between initial aesthetic attraction with an awareness of encouraging social responsibility."
