Artist Uses Transparencies to Draw Miniature Figures Standing on the Wings of Airplanes

British Artist Claire Harvey uses small pieces of clear acetate to draw solitary, miniature figures. She then tapes the transparencies to the windows of airplanes during flight using old-fashioned scoth tape, creating the illusion that the tiny characters are standing precariously outside on the wings. The extraordinary series of tiny drawings titled "Postcards", depicts familiar looking, but anonymous travelers trapped within an illusory environment of existential isolation. Harvey describes her own practice as “following ideas that are ephemeral…moments that have gone and the accumulation of particular acts.”
