About
Hello everyone and welcome to Junkculture. Our blog was launched in 2009 as a source for visual culture online, and has grown in leaps and bounds developing a loyal base of readers worldwide. Junkculture embodies the belief that the waste products of our consumer culture can be transformed into art that incorporates the history of their human use. The British art critic Lawrence Alloway first coined the term “Junk Culture” to describe mixed-media work that rescues the throw-away products of modern life.
